Quick check-in (wash feedback in three taps)

States for the brief. One sheet replaces the inline editor and the reminder modal at every entry point. The overall feel is the only required field and is the first thing on the sheet; the tags shortlist to her own four most-used per group with More; the note and photo share one compact row; Done is pinned so it never scrolls away. Frames 3 and 4 draw the two carry-forward options for the day-2 decision.

Opens at the partial breakpoint (0.6) over the washes tab. Five-point feel first; nothing is picked yet so Done waits. Both tag groups show her four most-used (seed order for a new profile) plus More. The note and photo row sits just below the fold; dragging up or tapping More grows the sheet to full height.
2. After one tap: "Good"

Picking a feel enables Done and opens the matching group first: "Good" and above keep "What went well?" open and fold "Any issues?" into a single "Anything off?" row (tap to open). "Okay" keeps both open. Two tags tapped here; the note and the camera share one row. This is the whole three-tap check-in: feel, a tag or two, Done.
3. Day 2, option A: pre-selected "Still true?"

Yesterday's three tags arrive already selected in a soft well; she has dropped "Reduced Frizz" with one tap. Fastest path when nothing changed: tap a feel, tap Done. Below it, "Anything new?" mixes the top issue and good shortlists minus what she already carried. The record for day 2 stores exactly the chips left selected.
4. Day 2, option B: unselected suggestions

Same well, but yesterday's tags start unselected and read as a reminder; she confirms each one (or "Still true, keep all" in one tap). Honest by default: a lazy Done records only the feel. Costs one extra tap on the common "nothing changed" day. The brief proposes option A; this frame is here so the choice is made on the screen, not in prose.

"Not great" opens the issues group first and folds the good group into "Anything good?". More expanded the group in place to all eleven; the sheet grew to full height. A note and a photo fit without a separate photos grid; up to five photos still allowed via "Add another". Done stays pinned.

Title and feel row render instantly (they need no data); chips are grey skeletons until the cached tag list and this wash's entries arrive (one round-trip). A feel picked while loading enables Done straight away.

Try again

Everything she entered stays; the message sits above the pinned button, which relabels to "Try again". A same-day 409 reads "You already checked in today. Edit that day instead." and flips the sheet into edit mode for that entry. A photo that fails after the check-in saved keeps today's honest toast and repoints the sheet at the real entry.

Three days checked in. That is a real picture of how this wash held up.
Slice 3: the latest wash carries a "How's it holding up?" row while it is inside its cycle (days 0 to 7) and today has no check-in; tapping opens the sheet. The feel shows as a soft pink pill beside the existing "Checked in for N days" badge, reading the latest day's word ("Good on day 1"), never a score. Older washes keep the row off. The day-3 milestone toast is shown for reference.
9. Edit wash: the timeline stays, read-only

Nothing editable inline any more: the CTA and every Edit open the sheet (pre-filled for an existing day, with "Remove this check-in" as the quiet danger action in the footer). Each day card gains its feel word above the tags, so the story of the wash reads top to bottom.
